Yesterday, I was talking with a company that makes promotional fridge magnets. I initially thought they were talking about making unique and creative magnets for your fridge and this got me thinking . . . which can always be dangerous.
I came up with a few designs for unique fridge magnets that were very functional. I love any product that is super functional and super practical. I started thinking about my fridge cluttered with all of those bright promotional magnets that really don’t look good at all. More promotional magnets on my fridge is the last thing I want.
I began to think about what I would actually like on my fridge. How cool would it be to grow flowers on your fridge? As I continued thinking. . . what about growing food on the outside of the fridge. Women would go crazy to cover their fridge in ornamental peppers, and wheat grasses.
I carried the idea to a larger scale and with my wifes help, came up with a tray that would be bonded to the fridge with super strong magnets, you could fill the tray with decorated pots filled with herbs, veggies, or flowers. This type of thing would sell in an interior decorating magazine for $70 plus. Better yet, Dan from positiveatmosphere.com could make these and sell them from his positive social network site!
Okay, so I wanted to bring the concept around the house. First, lightswitches. They serve no functional purpose except for of course turning on the light. In my opinion, they are not fun to look at. My light switch cover would have a space for a dangling plant to cover the unsightly beast. My only concern here would be with the mixture of watering the plant and electrocutions. . .
Back to cute designs for your kitchen. Above the kitchen sink there is usually a window. . . a great place for plants. . . Only problem is there are always dishes piling up and getting in the way of any potential decorations. I thought about making a track with multiple hanging baskets filled with roses, vines, herbs, mosses. . . you get the idea.
Finally, flower frames. . . this has to be done. Roses on the sides and grasses on the bottom. You know these would sell for 20-30 bucks.
Okay, I am running out of time, but there goes my product idea for the day. Tell me when you run with this.
